From tired florals to a spa-feel future-proofed bathroom

Before

After seeing her friend create a beautiful wheelchair accessible bathroom with Fine & Able, S was inspired to update and future-proof her own.

S says, "I saw Fine & Able's work when visiting a friend's house. I loved the elegant simplicity of the design, and that's how my journey began. My design consultant listened to my wish list, saw some imagery I shared, and came back with a beautiful design that suited me to a T! She was beyond patient, extremely creative, and had wonderful advice when it came to gorgeous design meeting functionality".

 

 

After

We started by swapping out the tired floral wall-paper and blue and white patterned tiles for a calming palette of timeless, natural tones.

S also hoped to incorporate a statement bath within the room after gathering soothing spa ideas from Pinterest and Instagram. By reworking the layout we were able to make better use of the space and create a room that delivered the spa aesthetic S wanted, with options to easily adapt it should it ever be needed in the future.

The focal point is now a beautiful, deep, freestanding tub. Not something you would usually see in an accessible bathroom but, with some clever design, we were able to add a level access shower area beside.

Our beautiful wooden Fortis seat and a simple satin steel rail will fit in perfectly should they ever be required. 

S opted for our Hestian basin and vanity unit. Unlike other vanity units, our Hestian range is designed as separate pieces that can operate independently of one another. Should S ever want to use the basin from seated, the vanity unit can be removed to give her a comfortable space for her knees underneath. Being suspended from the floor makes cleaning easier and creates a wonderful sense of space.

A class act from design to completion, I wanted a 5-star spa bathroom and that's what I got. Thank you Fine & Able.
